How Veriphy and AML Buddy differ
Neither has a subscription. Veriphy publishes a price list, all ex VAT: an AML check from £6.00, plus £3.50 for a one-document biometric check, and a one-off onboarding fee on pay as you go. AML Buddy charges £4.50 + VAT for a document + selfie check with PEP, sanctions and adverse media.
Veriphy covers a much wider range of checks, and its biometric check includes liveness. AML Buddy suits firms that want every client to verify remotely at one fixed price.

AML Buddy vs Veriphy: questions
How much does a Veriphy AML check cost?
Veriphy’s published small and medium business price for an AML and anti-fraud check starts at £6.00 per check. A standalone biometric document and selfie check is £3.50 (one document) or £5.00 (two documents). Its pricing page says all prices exclude VAT.
Does Veriphy charge a set-up fee?
For pay as you go, Veriphy charges a one-off onboarding fee, confirmed in your quote. It waives this if you agree a prepaid package. AML Buddy has no set-up fee.
Is Veriphy a subscription?
No. Veriphy says it has no annual platform fee, no platform renewal fee and no monthly subscription fee. AML Buddy is also subscription-free; you buy packs of 10 to 100 checks.
What’s the difference between an electronic AML check and a biometric check?
An electronic check matches a person’s details against data sources such as the electoral roll and credit files. A biometric check asks the person to photograph their ID document and take a selfie, so you can see that the person matches the document. See our guide to customer due diligence.
Does Veriphy include adverse media?
It isn’t listed in Veriphy’s AML check. It’s part of its HR Screen and a separate adverse media check. Every AML Buddy check includes adverse media.
Is Veriphy good for accountants?
Veriphy has a page for accountants, with weekly or monthly PEP and sanctions re-screening and batch checks of existing clients. If you also need company checks or batch re-screening, Veriphy covers more. If you want one fixed price for a full remote check, AML Buddy is simpler.
Who owns Veriphy?
Davies Group Limited has held more than 75% of Veriphy Limited’s shares since 16 October 2018, according to Companies House.
Can I switch from Veriphy to AML Buddy?
Yes. Keep your Veriphy reports for five years after the business relationship ends (MLR 2017 regulation 40), then run new checks in AML Buddy. If you prepaid a Veriphy package, check its terms for unused checks.
