How AML Buddy compares

AML Buddy side by side with 12 UK AML check providers: pricing model, published prices, contracts and user fees. Every fact is sourced and dated (checked 23–24 October 2026).

Sourced and dated

Their own pages, linked

We take facts from each provider’s pricing and product pages and Companies House, and link the source next to each one.

Like for like

Same basis, both sides

We compare the same things for everyone and say “not published” when a provider quotes privately. We don’t estimate prices we can’t see.

Honest about gaps

Where others do more, we say so

Source of funds, KYB and integrations are areas where several providers offer more than AML Buddy today.

Questions to ask any AML provider

Use this checklist on every quote, including ours. It’s the quickest way to compare total cost and terms like for like.

  1. Is there a contract, and how long is it?

Ask for the minimum term, the renewal date and how much notice you must give. Some tools renew automatically.

  2. Is there a platform fee, subscription or monthly minimum?

Add it to the per-check price. A monthly fee spread over a few checks can cost more than the checks themselves.

  3. Do you charge per user, or cap the number of users?

Check what happens when a new colleague or branch needs access.

  4. Do credits or bundles expire?

Ask whether unused checks roll over, expire after 12 months or are lost at renewal.

  5. Am I charged when I send the invite or when the client completes?

If you pay on invite, checks your client never finishes still cost you.

  6. What exactly does one check include?

Compare like with like: ID document, selfie or liveness, address, PEP, sanctions, adverse media, ongoing monitoring (for how long?) and the report.

  7. Are prices shown with or without VAT?

Many B2B price lists are ex VAT. Compare both on the same basis.

  8. Are there set-up, onboarding or exit fees?

Include one-off fees and any cost of exporting your records when you leave.

  9. Can I export my reports if I leave?

You must keep CDD records for five years after the business relationship ends (MLR 2017 regulation 40), so make sure you can download them.

Comparison questions

How do you compare providers fairly?

We use each provider’s own pricing and product pages and Companies House, and we link the source next to each fact. Every fact was checked on 23–24 October 2026, and each comparison page shows its own date. We compare like with like, and we say where another provider does more than we do.

Why don’t you show a price for every provider?

Several providers don’t publish prices and quote after a demo. Where that’s the case we say “not published” rather than guess. Ask them for a written quote and compare it on the same basis.

Is AML Buddy the cheapest option?

Not always. FigsFlow charges the same pay-as-you-go price (£4.50 + VAT) and is cheaper above about 15 checks a month on its programme, and some tools offer electronic-only checks for less. AML Buddy’s strength is one published price with no subscription, contract or monthly minimum.

What doesn’t AML Buddy do?

We don’t offer source of funds or open banking checks, Right to Rent checks or integrations yet, and company (KYB) checks are coming soon. If you need those, several providers on this page cover them.

Does a regulator approve any of these tools?

No. HMRC, the FCA and the professional bodies don’t approve or endorse AML software, including AML Buddy. Your firm remains responsible for its own risk-based approach under the Money Laundering Regulations.
